We’re delighted to have completed the installation of our latest Endless Pool in North Wales—an adaptive WaterWell model designed to meet the needs of a young wheelchair user with a number of special requirements.
Working closely with the site manager on the construction of the purpose-built pool room, we designed and installed a 7×7 foot WaterWell system equipped with a full air-handling unit. This ensures optimal humidity and temperature control, even with water heated above 30°C, creating a comfortable and safe environment for therapy and relaxation.
Unlike traditional Endless Pools, the WaterWell functions more like a plunge pool, without the signature swim current. Instead, it offers a range of hydrotherapy adaptations, including hydrotherapy jets, extra steps, an underwater treadmill, exercise rails, and hoists, allowing for a fully customised experience.
“It was a pleasure to hand over the WaterWell to this incredible family. We’ve already heard how it is transforming their child’s life and putting a big smile on his face, with daily exercise and fun in the pool. The nearest public facility of this kind is over an hour away, with available sessions few and far between,” said Stephen Davies, Director of Malpelo Pools.
Hydrotherapy pools, like the WaterWell, provide significant benefits, offering low-impact exercise that promotes mobility, strength, balance, and posture. They are ideal for injury recovery, pain relief, and conditions such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis (MS), paralysis, and more—helping individuals achieve greater comfort and freedom in movement.
