Swim in a Tin is a private swimming school based in Leamington Spa. The owners have built an Endless Pool in a container and successfully run their swimming school business from within.
According to the STA, more and more private swimming schools have started to build their businesses in the UK with their own pools, a trend that is expected to continue.
“With public pools closing due to rising maintenance costs and funding issues, this type of self-contained private swimming pool setup could very well be the future of swim lessons,” suggests Claire Davies, director of Malpelo Pools. “We have recently installed Endless Pools for successful private swim schools in Cannock and Manchester, making use of an industrial unit and an unused cellar. A standard Endless Pool is 7 x 14ft so it can fit in locations that no other pools will, plus the running costs are significantly less.
Using an Endless Pool for teaching swimming provides a consistent, controlled environment with adjustable currents, making it perfect for both beginners and advanced swimmers. Plus, it allows for flexible, community-based swim instruction without relying on large, expensive public facilities.”
Swim in a Tin has used three containers to provide a small reception, a waiting area with a pool view, pool room with a shower, an accessible toilet and two private changing rooms with showers.
